| At last! Here's a hands-on
workshop that's oriented to learning new techniques,
expanding old ones, and completing a myriad of
kiln-forming projects. We'll focus on four specific
techniques: glass weaving, creating strip bowls,
fused glass mosaics, and using high temperature firing
methods. Along the way, numerous glass processes will be
demonstrated and discussed, including making and using
pattern bars, using
stringers and powders, and working with mica and other
inclusions. We'll
explore the kiln-forming process from initial concept to
final piece, and will also touch on sandblasting, cold-working, hanging, and
related finishing techniques.
Plan on an
action-packed, hands-on class with plenty of
opportunities to create both finished work and
components for use in future projects. All
materials will be included, but previous experience with
basic kiln processes is required. Limited class
